Mindi and Adam brought much light and love to the Shadowland Ballroom on September 14, 2014. From the very beginning stages of preparing for their wedding, it was apparent that the day’s events would be focused on sharing this part of their love story with their friends and family.
The couple was blessed with a beautiful sunny day along the shores of Lake Michigan. As the two readied themselves in their suites at the Boulevard Inn, it became even more apparent how thankful they were for their guests. Seemingly less concerned with her own preparation, the bride fluffed her bridesmaids’ dresses and brushed on makeup for her little sister. The groom spent the morning hours with those who traveled for his wedding and watching football with his groomsmen. It was a morning full of smiles, laughter, and memory-making.
Mindi and Adam opted for a first look on the bluff of St. Joseph. Not only did this opportunity give them a special moment just between the two of them, but also offered countless couple and bridal party photo ops!
The Martin ceremony took place at the Shadowland Pavilion along the channel of St. Joseph River. The beautiful vintage lighthouse, North Pier, and sandy beaches of Silver Beach were the backdrops. Mindi’s brother officiated the ceremony and the entire attendance smiled, laughed, and teared up as vows were read and love was professed.
After the nuptials, guests ventured to Silver Beach Center and Shadowland Ballroom for the rest of the evening’s itinerary. Some took to rides on the Silver Beach Carousel where the mother of the bride hand-crafted a Purdue cover for one of the horses, in reference to the happily married couple’s first meeting. Most ventured to the dance floor alongside the music of DJ Liz Martin.
The decor was all handmade and consisted of numerous candles, glitter, and artsy wine bottles. The couple, choosing to play on the Ballroom’s positioning next to a carousel, offered cotton candy favors to their guests. It was a night of much love and laughter!
Mindi and Adam wanted nothing more than to share their love with those closest to them — and that is exactly what happened during their wedding ceremony and reception. Thank you for sharing your special day with all of us here at Shadowland!
